Hi there! Today's post is part of a blog hop to celebrate the "Mothers, Fathers and Flowers" release from Simon Says Stamp and I'm really excited to show you what I have created! (Including a video tutorial, yay!) If you haven't seen this release yet, you can check it out here or see my previous post here.
¡Hola!
I fell in love with everything in this release the moment I saw it, and decided to mix up a few of the stamp sets to create two cards. I first stamped the word MOM from the stamp set "Mom and Dad Icons" and masked the letters before stamping those beautiful flowers and bird from the "So Deer" stamp set. It took a while to color everything with pencils, but I'm really happy with the result! :)
My second card is exactly the same idea, but this time I used the "Flora Background" instead and again colored everything with pencils. If you are interested in watching how I made these cards, just click play on the video below (or watch in HD on my Youtube channel).

ReplyDeleteBoth cards are beautiful. You make it look so easy : )
ReplyDeleteI noticed you use both clarity brushes and inkylicious dusters. I am thinking of buying a set of one of them for lightly blending distress inks. Do they both do a good job? Are the inkylicious dusters a firmer bristle? Which one do you like to use for blending better? Would love your thoughts on the 2 sets of brushes.
Hi Sam! Both sets work well and the results are very similar. The Clarity brushes are softer while Inkylicious are harder and tend to lose some hair, according to them this is an issue that gets solved after you use the brushes a few times. I'm in love with my Clarity Brushes and right now use the other ones to remove excess of color when I use pencils, but I think it is really personal which one you'd like more. Hope it helps!
DeleteBeautiful colors!
ReplyDeleteWow! I love that bold background!
ReplyDeleteSO beautiful!
ReplyDeleteBlessings to you for sharing,
